I feel most people don’t understand how to take care of their spiritual health. I once heard from a church leader there are FIVE aspects of our health we need to focus on.
- Physical Health
- Emotional Health
- Social Health
- Financial Health
- Spiritual Health
I see people talk about physical, emotional, social, and financial health quite often now. However, it is rare to hear about how to strengthen and nourish spiritual health. Though I believe in God and am particularly religious, I don’t mean everyone should be forced to believe the same way I do.
I’ve studied buddhist, shinto, Hindi, muslim, and various other religions and what I find is people tend to live better, healthier lives when they open themselves up spiritual, everyday practices.
I believe people need this spiritual connection. Without it, there comes a major lack of empathy for ourselves and others, we lose sight of our goals, view life generally without meaning, and lack a peaceful space when difficult trials and events happen in our lives.
Though there may be people who write out against this idea, I truly believe we need a spiritual connection to someone or something. When we do we treat ourselves better and find meaning, and purpose in out lives beyond just everyday breathing, drinking, and eating.
Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!
