When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up? Journal Prompt, 3/31/23

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I didn’t want to really be anything when I was five. I would go on random adventures into the land outside my house. Some of my favorite memories include:

  1. Climbing every tree I saw. My mom used to call me Spiderman because she’d find me climbing up door frames, trees, onto the backside of bleachers, and even flag poles.
  2. Playing in a giant puddle with tadpoles. I used to make up stories and go on wild adventures. I remember this weird movie The Brave Frog (1989) and wanting to save all the tadpoles I found swimming around in puddles.
  3. Going on various “nature” walks to the pond near my house. I must have explored every in of that pond. I found multiple trails and would trek up “petrified hill” to look at the town I live-in.

Really thinking about, I didn’t know what I wanted to do or be at such a young age. My mind was focused primarily on getting scratches and bruises, exploring nature, and getting dirty.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!
